We are seeking a full-time Payroll Officer to join our Payroll Team for a period of 6 months, with the possibility of an extension. The start date of this position is 30th November 2026.

This role sits within the head office Australian payroll team. This is a hands-on payroll role with a weekly payroll of approximately 800 employees across various sites EBA’s and Awards, predominantly using Aurion, TANDA and Excel software.
You will report to the National Payroll Manager.
The Role
As a Payroll Officer, you will play an important role in ensuring our employees are paid accurately and on time. Working as part of the Payroll team, you will support the end-to-end payroll process, maintaining accurate employee records and ensuring payroll transactions are processed in accordance with company policies, Enterprise Agreements, Awards and legislative requirements.
This role is suited to an experienced payroll officer, who is highly organised, detail-focused and comfortable working to strict deadlines, with a strong commitment to accuracy, confidentiality and providing excellent service to employees.
Key Accountabilities
Payroll Processing – Accurately process weekly employee payroll in accordance with established payroll schedules and deadlines.
Timesheet and Attendance Administration – Review and process timesheets, leave, allowances, overtime and other payroll-related transactions.
Employee Maintenance – Maintain accurate employee payroll records, including new starters, changes to employment conditions, banking, tax and superannuation details.
Leave Administration – Process and maintain employee leave entitlements and ensure leave transactions and balances are accurately recorded.
Payroll Compliance – Ensure payroll processing complies with applicable legislation, Awards, Enterprise Agreements, employment contracts and company policies.
Superannuation and Taxation – Process PAYG withholding, superannuation contributions and other statutory payroll obligations accurately and within required timeframes.
Payroll Reconciliations – Complete payroll reconciliations and investigate and resolve discrepancies prior to payroll finalisation.
Employee Enquiries – Respond to employee and manager payroll enquiries professionally and provide accurate information regarding pay, deductions and entitlements.
Payroll Reporting and Documentation – Prepare payroll reports and maintain accurate records and supporting documentation for audit and compliance purposes.
Payroll Controls and Data Integrity – Follow established payroll procedures and internal controls, identify payroll discrepancies or risks, and escalate issues appropriately.
To Be Considered, You Will Need
The ability to start on Monday November 30, 2026.
A minimum of 2 years previous experience in a high-volume environment;
High attention to detail;
Medium to Advanced level Excel skills;
Experience with Award and / or EBA legislation;
The ability to multitask;
Strong problem solving skills;
Be customer focused, friendly and approachable and strive to identify areas for process improvement.

Previous Aurion and / or TANDA experience and exposure to the manufacturing and retail industries will be highly regarded.
