About the role
West Gosford, NSW | Full Time | $50–$70 per hour
Tru Blu Solar Co is looking for a skilled Solar & Battery Electrician to join our growing team based in West Gosford, NSW.
This isn't just another solar installation role.
We're building a renewable energy company with ambitions that go well beyond installing panels and batteries. Our mission is to help change the way Australian homes and businesses generate, store and use energy — ultimately connecting thousands of distributed solar and battery systems into our own Virtual Power Plant (VPP).
To achieve that, we need electricians who care about the quality of the systems we install today and are excited about where the energy industry is heading tomorrow.
This position is primarily a maintenance, technical support and quality assurance role. You'll work across our existing customer base, support our installation crews, troubleshoot complex issues and help ensure every Tru Blu system performs to the standard we expect.
You'll work with modern solar, battery, EV charging, monitoring and energy management technology and have the opportunity to develop your skills as our business moves further into distributed energy and VPP technology.
$50–$70 per hour depending on experience and capability.
$50–$60/hour may suit an electrician who does not yet hold SAA accreditation and has less than one year of experience with solar, battery or similar electrical systems.
$60–$70/hour is aimed at experienced electricians who hold SAA accreditation in both solar and battery, have 2+ years of industry experience and can demonstrate strong skills in commissioning, fault finding, quality assurance and leading teams on site.
Your technical knowledge and practical experience will form part of the interview process.
For the right person, there is significant opportunity to grow with the company as Tru Blu expands.
Company Vehicle provided.
This role is designed to support our installation teams and existing customers while improving the quality and reliability of every system we install.
You'll be responsible for:
Attending maintenance jobs and call-backs so our installation crews can remain focused on completing new projects.
Performing quality assurance inspections on completed installations and reporting your findings.
Diagnosing and rectifying faults across solar, battery and electrical systems.
Commissioning and programming solar inverters, battery systems and EV chargers.
Adjusting metering, monitoring and inverter settings.
Troubleshooting communications, monitoring and system configuration issues.
Rectifying faulty or non-compliant electrical circuits where required.
Installing inverter and battery covers or other components that were unavailable during the original installation.
Assisting the sales team with technical and electrical advice where required.
Supporting site operations during busy periods.
Assisting warehouse and logistics operations where required.
Maintaining accurate records of completed works, testing, commissioning and rectification.
Helping improve our installation standards, commissioning processes and customer experience.
Developing your knowledge of emerging battery, energy management and VPP technologies as Tru Blu expands into these areas.
We're looking for someone who takes pride in their work, can think for themselves and wants to be part of a company with serious ambitions in the renewable energy industry.
You'll need:
A current electrical licence recognised in NSW.
Experience in residential and/or commercial electrical installation.
Strong electrical fault-finding and problem-solving ability.
The ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and system designs.
Working at Heights certification and experience working safely on rooftops.
A current driver's licence.
The ability to confidently drive a manual vehicle.
Strong communication skills and a professional approach when dealing with customers.
The ability to work independently while still contributing to a larger team.
A strong commitment to WHS, installation quality and company culture.
Willingness to travel throughout the Central Coast and surrounding areas.
Experience with solar monitoring platforms, inverter programming, battery commissioning, EV charging and energy management systems will be highly regarded.
SAA accreditation in solar and battery is highly desirable but not essential for the right electrician who wants to learn.
Tru Blu Solar Co isn't trying to build an ordinary electrical contracting company.
We're building a team that wants to have a crack at doing something much bigger.
You'll receive:
$50–$70/hour, depending on experience.
Full-time employment with a rapidly growing renewable energy company.
Ongoing training across the latest solar, battery, EV charging and energy management technology.
Exposure to multiple leading inverter and battery platforms.
Quality tools, equipment and systems to do your job properly.
Opportunities to move into more senior technical and leadership positions as we grow.
The opportunity to be involved as Tru Blu develops its Virtual Power Plant and broader energy business.
A workplace where good ideas and initiative are genuinely valued.
A team that works hard but doesn't take itself too seriously.
And we actually have fun doing it.
Our team events aren't the standard Christmas lunch and a couple of beers.
We've recently organised trips and events including snow trips, Hunter Valley golf and Tough Mudder, with plenty more planned.
There's always something happening around the company — team trips, challenges, social content, ridiculous marketing ideas and plenty of cameras following what we're building both on and off site.
You won't find many electrical companies like Tru Blu.
Tru Blu Solar Co is an Australian renewable energy company specialising in solar, battery storage, EV charging and energy solutions for homes and businesses.
But installing solar and batteries is only the beginning of what we're building.
Our mission is to help create a future where Australian homes and businesses can generate, store, manage and share their own energy — reducing their dependence on traditional electricity retailers and the grid.
We're working towards building an ecosystem of thousands of solar and battery systems that can ultimately be connected and intelligently managed through our own Virtual Power Plant.
That means the quality of every installation matters.
Every inverter commissioned correctly, every battery installed properly and every customer system operating reliably becomes another building block in the energy network we're creating.
We're growing quickly, investing heavily in our people and technology, and we're looking for people who want to grow with us.
We're not looking for someone who simply wants to turn up, wire a system and go home.
We're looking for people who want to become exceptionally good at what they do and be part of building one of Australia's most exciting renewable energy companies.
If you're a qualified electrician who enjoys technology, takes pride in quality workmanship and wants to build a career in the rapidly evolving solar, battery and energy industry, we want to hear from you.
