An opportunity to step out of consulting and into a true owner/operator environment.We're partnering with a well-funded data centre owner/operator that's continuing to expand its footprint across Australia and the Asia-Pacific region. With a strong pipeline of committed customer demand, this isn't speculative development - projects are backed by long-term customers and investment.
They're looking for an experienced Electrical Engineering Lead to become the electrical subject matter expert across new developments and existing facilities, influencing projects from early concept and due diligence through design, construction, commissioning and operations.
Unlike many hyperscale organisations, this business has a lean structure where decisions happen quickly. You'll work directly with senior leadership, customers, consultants and contractors, giving you genuine influence over technical outcomes and business decisions.
The Role
Reporting to the Director of Engineering, you'll:Lead electrical engineering across mission-critical data centre developmentsReview and guide consultant designs for HV, MV and LV electrical systemsProvide technical leadership from design through commissioning and operationsSupport due diligence for acquisitions and new site selectionDrive engineering standards, resilience strategies and sustainability initiativesEngage directly with customers, consultants and delivery partners throughout the project lifecycleContribute to projects across Australia and the broader APAC region.
About You
You'll likely be a Senior, Principal or Associate Electrical Engineer with:5+ years' experience within a building services consultancy delivering data centre or other mission-critical facilitiesStrong knowledge of HV, MV and LV electrical designExperience with generators, transformers, UPS systems, switchboards and critical power infrastructureExposure to commissioning, protection studies and electrical system resilienceStrong stakeholder management skills and the confidence to influence technical decisionsAustralian Permanent Residency or Citizenship.
