Light Vehicle Mechanic / Qualified DOT Vehicle Inspector – Gosnells

Ulti-Mech is a growing Western Australian automotive business looking for an experienced Light Vehicle Mechanic or Qualified WA Department of Transport Vehicle Inspector to join our Gosnells workshop.

We're looking for someone who takes pride in their work, can diagnose and repair vehicles efficiently, and wants to be part of a professional, well-supported team.

Location

📍 Gosnells, Perth

Our workshop is directly opposite the Gosnells Train Station, making public transport a quick and convenient option.

The Role

• Full-time, permanent position

• Monday to Friday

• Choose the hours that suit your lifestyle:

  • 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM, or

  • 8:00 AM start if you prefer a shorter workday

• No FIFO

• No weekend roster

• Immediate start available

Your Responsibilities

• Diagnose, service and repair a wide range of light vehicles

• Carry out scheduled servicing and repairs

• Complete fault finding using diagnostic equipment

• Perform Department of Transport vehicle inspections (if authorised)

• Maintain a clean, safe and organised work area

• Deliver quality workmanship with minimal comebacks

Essential Requirements

• Completed a formal Light Vehicle Mechanical Apprenticeship

• Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology obtained through completion of that apprenticeship

• Minimum 2 years' post-trade workshop experience

• Current Australian Driver's Licence

• Full Australian working rights

• Able to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening

Highly Desirable

• Current WA Department of Transport Light Vehicle Inspection Authorisation

• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills

• Air-conditioning licence

• Experience with a variety of vehicle makes and models

Please note: This role is for qualified tradespeople who have completed a formal apprenticeship and have proven workshop experience.
