Job Description:
SCOFIS is seeking an experienced and dedicated Cert III Dental/Surgical Assistant to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will work closely with our surgeons and clinical team to ensure seamless surgical procedures and an outstanding patient experience. This position is ideal for someone with experience in dental who is passionate about high-quality care in a fast-paced clinical environment. This position can be either a full time role (9 day fortnight) part time (3-4 days per week) for the right candidate.

Responsibilities:
1. Chairside Assistance: Provide efficient and professional assistance during oral and maxillofacial surgical procedures.  
2. Instrument Management: Prepare, sterilise, and maintain surgical instruments and equipment in compliance with infection control protocols.  
3. Patient Care: Support patients pre and post-procedure, ensuring their comfort and providing clear instructions for aftercare.  
4. Surgical Setup: Ensure treatment rooms are properly prepared and stocked for surgical procedures.  
5. Documentation: Accurately record patient information, treatment notes, and procedural details.  
6. Inventory Management: Assist in managing and ordering supplies, including dental implants and surgical consumables.  
7. Collaboration: Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide the highest standard of care.  
8. Administrative Duties: Some administration duties, including; scheduling appointments, assisting with phone calls, document handling, assisting consultations etc. 

Requirements:
1. Previous experience as a dental or surgical assistant is essential.  
2. Certificate III or IV in Dental Assisting is essential.  
3. Strong knowledge of infection control protocols and sterilisation procedures.  
4. Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.  
5. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.  
6. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a patient-centred approach.
