• Salary: $33.85/hr (Mon-Fri) penalty rates apply on weekend and public holidays

Located in Leura in the Blue Mountains, Everglades House & Gardens is a stunning example of Art Deco architecture and design, set amongst 5.2 hectares of Paul Sorensen designed gardens with sweeping views over the Jamison Valley. 

We’re seeking an energetic Cafe Assistant with a track record in Food and Beverage to undertake barista operations and assist in the tea rooms at this high-profile property. You will work with a team of volunteers to create an unforgettable café experience for our visitors which is welcoming and inclusive. 

About the Role

Reporting directly to the Cafe Coordinator, you will be responsible for:

• Assisting with the daily kitchen operations ensuring it runs smoothly. This may include rostering, ordering, food preparation and execution 

• Overseeing the delivery of beverages ensuring coffee quality is of the highest standard

• As required, assistance with inventory management, ordering supplies, and liaising with suppliers

• Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations

About you

• Experience in food handling and short order food preparation is essential

• Barista experience including the confidence of high-volume coffee orders. Latte art making desirable

• The ability to supervise and lead a team of volunteers

• A positive attitude and commitment to teamwork

•  A valid Food Safety Supervisor certificate or the willingness to obtain one

• A current Working with Children Check (WWCC) or the willingness to obtain one
