An exciting opportunity is available to join the Cardinia Mental Health and Wellbeing Local (MHWL), part of Victoria’s mental health reforms following the Royal Commission. The Cardinia MHWL, delivered in partnership with Mind Australia and Monash Health, provides community-based mental health services across Southeast Melbourne, offering accessible support for people aged 26+ with mental health and co-occurring AOD needs.

We are seeking a Senior Registered Psychiatric Nurse (Grade 4) to join the team full-time.

About the role

• Conduct comprehensive assessments and risk evaluations
• Deliver complex care and brief interventions
• Provide clinical supervision and support to staff
• Contribute to care escalation, collaboration, and clinical reviews
• Work across community settings and telehealth

Key responsibilities

• Uphold clinical governance, quality, and compliance
• Engage with consumers, carers, and stakeholders
• Support inclusive, “no wrong door” service delivery
• Contribute to supervision, education, and quality improvement

About you

You are an experienced mental health clinician with strong leadership and collaboration skills, confident undertaking complex clinical assessments and providing guidance and support to colleagues across a multidisciplinary team. You bring excellent communication skills, a person-centred approach to care, and the ability to work both independently and in partnership with a broad range of stakeholders. Committed to continuous improvement, you actively engage in reflective practice, evidence-based decision-making, and ongoing professional development to strengthen your clinical practice and support positive outcomes for consumers.

Requirements

• AHPRA‑registered nurse with mental health qualification
• Registered Nurse with a Bachelor of Nursing qualification and has an academic post graduate qualification in mental nursing qualification (minimum Diploma level)
• Minimum 5 years’ mental health experience
