Senior Python Engineer (AI & Asset Management Technology)

Our client is partnering with a leading financial services organisation undergoing a significant technology transformation within their Asset Management division seeking 2 x Python Engineers to join a high-performing team.


Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable backend solutions using Python and FastAPI.
• Build and integrate AI and LLM-powered capabilities into enterprise applications.
• Contribute to architecture decisions and engineering best practices.
• Work with SQL databases and ensure robust data management practices.
• Develop and support cloud-native, containerised applications.
• Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, technology teams, and end users.
• Drive solutions from concept and design through to production support.

Essential Requirements

• Strong backend engineering experience using Python, ideally with FastAPI, Flask, or similar frameworks.
• Demonstrated experience integrating Large Language Models (LLMs) into production applications.
• Hands-on experience working with Agentic AI frameworks, patterns, and tooling.
• Deep understanding of AI best practices, including the strengths, limitations and practical considerations of generative AI solutions.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for innovation.
• Proven ability to own systems end-to-end, from solution design through deployment and ongoing support.

Highly Regarded

• Experience with containerisation technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• CI/CD experience using GitHub Actions or equivalent tooling.
• Exposure to GitHub Copilot, Claude, or other AI-assisted development tools.
• Experience with React, TypeScript, or other modern UI frameworks.
• Financial services, investment management, or asset management domain experience.
