Join our Casualty team specialising in public liability and personal injury defence. You will advise on and defend public and product liability claims, provide coverage advice, and work with a diverse range of insurer and corporate clients. We are seeking candidates with defendant public liability and personal injury litigation experience who thrive in a collaborative team environment that supports innovation, work-life balance and flexibility.
Responsibilities
Associate role suited to a lawyer with 2-4 years' PQE, ideally with experience acting for defendants in insurance litigation.
Opportunity to join a well-established and high performing Casualty team, working closely with experienced partners and senior lawyers.
Focus on public liability and personal injury defence, acting in complex matters for a broad range of insurer and corporate clients, advising from initial assessment through to resolution.
Provide policy interpretation and coverage advice to insurer clients.
Work with leading local and Lloyds of London insurers, and corporates across diverse industries including construction, hospitality, security, leisure, retail, education, property management, cleaning, and waste management.
Gain exposure to a variety of complex claims, including worker-to-worker claims, contractual disputes, claims arising from fatalities and recreational activities, occupier and contractors’ liability.
Contribute positively to the team and firm culture.
Essential
Bachelor of Law degree and admission to legal practice in New South Wales
A keen interest in insurance and civil litigation
Proven experience working within a law firm
Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
Ability to work as part of a collaborative team, as well as confidently working under your own initiative
Professionalism, conscientiousness, commitment
