Registered Nurse – NDIS Community & DVA Clinical Lead

About the Role

As the Clinical Lead, you will be responsible for leading the organisation's clinical services while ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality, person-centred care. You will provide clinical leadership across our NDIS, Aged Care and DVA programs, supporting participants, families and our multidisciplinary workforce.

Working closely with the Directors and Operations Team, you will drive continuous quality improvement and ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, professional standards and organisational policies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and oversee all clinical services across Velocity Support Services.
• Complete comprehensive nursing assessments and develop individualised care plans.
• Conduct clinical risk assessments and health reviews.
• Complete Wound, Continency Assessments
• Oversee medication management systems and clinical documentation.
• Deliver staff education, competency assessments and clinical mentoring.
• Delegate nursing tasks safely to support workers and Enrolled Nurses.
• Lead infection prevention and control initiatives.
• Investigate medication incidents and clinical events.
• Coordinate and deliver DVA-funded community nursing services.
• Complete clinical assessments in line with DVA Community Nursing requirements.
• Liaise with DVA, GPs and other healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care.
• Support SIL homes with complex participant care.
• Liaise with GPs, hospitals, specialists and allied health professionals.
• Participate in participant case conferences and multidisciplinary meetings.
• Develop and review clinical policies, procedures and governance frameworks.
• Support NDIS and Aged Care audits and accreditation requirements.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement, safety and person-centred care.

Essential Requirements:

• Current unrestricted AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
• Minimum three years' post-registration clinical experience.
• Experience in disability, community nursing, aged care or complex care.
• Demonstrated leadership or senior nursing experience.
• Excellent clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification.
• Current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.
• Current National Police Check.
• Current Queensland Driver Licence.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Hours of Work:

Monday- Friday: 08:45- 3:45pm.
