Bar Manager

About the role

Reporting to the General Manager, the Bar Manager will be responsible for the effective operation of the Club's bar and gaming facilities. The successful applicant will maintain high standards of service for our members and guests, oversee responsible liquor and gaming operations, manage costs and stock, coordinate promotions and provide strong leadership to the bar team.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily bar operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, POS accuracy and banking.
• Forecast stock requirements and manage ordering, stock rotation and monthly stocktakes.
• Establish and maintain consistently high customer service standards.
• Professionally manage member and guest enquiries, concerns and complaints.
• Recruit, induct, train, supervise and coach bar staff.
• Ensure staff comply with RSA, RCG, hygiene, WHS, cash-handling procedures and Club policies.
• Develop and deliver profitable beverage promotions and assess their performance.
• Maintain compliance with liquor licensing, gaming, RSA, RCG and workplace safety requirements.
• Provide operational oversight for Club functions, promotions and entertainment.
• Oversee gaming services, including gaming machines, Keno and TAB.

About you

• Proven experience in bar or hospitality management, with registered club or hotel experience highly regarded.
• Strong leadership, coaching and people-management skills.
• Sound knowledge of POS systems, stock control and inventory management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organisational and time-management abilities.
• The confidence to manage conflict professionally.
• A commitment to leading by example and delivering excellent service.
• The ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
• Current NSW Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) – essential.
• Current NSW Responsible Conduct of Gambling (RCG) – essential.
