This is an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of science, policy and strategy, helping to identify emerging environmental challenges and opportunities while strengthening scientific capability, partnerships and influence across government and the broader research community.
About the Roles
As the Senior Project Officer, you will provide, coordinate and manage expert scientific advice, planning and technical support for a range of restoration and scientific research programs and projects. You will work closely with senior leaders, scientists, policymakers and external stakeholders to ensure scientific evidence informs strategic planning policy development and decision making in the context of ecological restoration.
Details of the two roles available are below:
Senior Project Officer Restoration Science Role 1: We are seeking a skilled science professional with experience in terrestrial restoration science, nature and carbon markets, and data management. You will apply your expertise to support evidence-based environmental and restoration outcomes, translating complex scientific and economic information into practical insights for a range of stakeholders. You will apply initiative and analytical skills to new and emerging problems at the intersection of restoration ecology and markets. Experience communicating research to diverse audiences is essential, while knowledge of environmental economics or broader applied economics will be highly regarded.
Senior Project Officer Restoration Science Role 2: The ideal candidate will have experience in social or socio-economic research, terrestrial restoration science, data management, and communicating scientific findings to a range of audiences. You will apply both ecological and sociological knowledge to applied science which helps to delivery biodiversity outcomes in partnership with communities. You will play a key role in turning evidence into actionable solutions that support landscape restoration initiatives across NSW.
