As the primary day-to-day operational lead, you'll be a senior member of the leadership team, driving daily performance, team engagement, and operational excellence, while stepping up as the delegated leader in the Facility Manager's absence. It's a role with real ownership - you'll shape how the club runs and how members experience it every single day.

World Gym is an internationally recognised brand, known globally for its strength training and bodybuilding heritage, and World Gym Underwood is one of Viva Leisure's corporate-owned locations within that network. Viva Leisure holds an ownership interest in the World Gym Australia master franchise, backing this iconic, big-box brand with the scale, systems and support of a growing national fitness group - meaning you'll have the strength of an established global name behind you, plus the resources of a listed operator investing in the format's future. 

World Gym Underwood sits in one of Logan's fastest-growing corridors, just off the Pacific Motorway and around 20km south of Brisbane CBD - easy to get to and easy to build a local member base around. Underwood Marketplace and Underwood Central are right on the doorstep, giving your team (and members) easy access to cafes, restaurants, supermarkets and everyday conveniences before or after a session, with plenty of free parking on offer too.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced leader who wants more than a management title - you'll foster a high-performing, member-focused culture, drive membership growth, and improve operational efficiency, all while backed by the support and scale of a growing national network. We are looking for someone with: 

• Current First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Strong knowledge of and a passion for the Fitness Industry
• Experience in sales and customer service, ideally within the fitness or retail sectors
• Demonstrated people management and team leadership experience
• Proven sales aptitude with a results-driven mindset and ability to meet targets
• Outstanding communication and leadership skills, with a passion for engaging both team members and clients to strengthen the brand. Skilled in supporting diverse tasks and mentoring future leaders to help them achieve peak performance
• Proven ability to drive operational excellence through strong organisational and formal operational skills. Capable of managing multiple priorities effectively, with a proactive mindset, eagerness to learn, and agility in adapting to evolving business needs
• Ability to be a role model and live our Viva values, and behaviours while being passionate about our brands. You will demonstrate professionalism, respect, courtesy and support
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook)

• Drive new member sign-ups, manage renewals, and implement strategies to enhance member satisfaction and retention
• Ensure all members and guests receive high-quality service; handle complaints and feedback promptly and professionally
• Maintain high standard of operational procedures. Manage administration, auditing and organisation of the club, ensuring all areas are clean, safe, and fully operational
• Ensure all activities, equipment, and facilities comply with health and safety regulations and industry standards
• Recruit, train, schedule and manage in club staff; ensure high team performance and morale
• Plan and execute local marketing campaigns, community engagement events, and promotions to increase visibility and attract new members
• Oversee the development and scheduling of fitness programs and classes, ensuring they meet member needs and industry trends
