As a Commis Chef, you'll be part of a passionate and supportive kitchen team, helping to create memorable dining experiences for our guests at Dock 37 Restaurant and Bar. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is eager to learn, grow their culinary career, and be part of a team that takes pride in delivering exceptional food and service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with the preparation and presentation of à la carte dishes, ensuring quality and consistency standards are met.

• Support the kitchen team to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of orders during service.

• Maintain a clean, organised, and well-stocked work area at all times.

• Assist with food preparation, portioning, stock rotation, and storage procedures.

• Follow all health, safety, and hygiene regulations and company standards.

• Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to deliver exceptional dining experiences for guests.

• Learn and develop culinary skills through hands-on experience and guidance from senior chefs.

• Assist with receiving, storing, and managing kitchen supplies as required.
  

Ideally you will have:

• Previous experience in a commercial kitchen, café, restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environment is desirable

• Relevant qualifications in Cookery (Certificate II or III, completed or currently undertaking) and a basic understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.

• A genuine passion for food, cooking, and delivering great guest experiences.

• A willingness to learn, take direction, and develop your culinary skills.

• Strong attention to detail and pride in producing quality food.

• Ability to work productively and safely in a fast-paced team environment.

• The flexibility to work on a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays.

• Afternoon/night and weekend availability is essential.
