Kitchen Hand / Dishwasher

The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity to join our passionate kitchen team as a Kitchen Hand on a full time or part time basis (multiple roles), assisting with general cleaning and dishwashing duties in the kitchen and food prep areas for our popular all-day cafe. The cafe is a key experience in our iconic tourism destination located on 40 acres of landscaped grounds and orchards in the Yarra Valley, 15 minutes from Lilydale.

Full time or part time would be considered for the right candidate.

PLEASE NOTE: We are located in Yarra Glen, one hour from Melbourne CBD and not accessible by public transport.

Your Role 

To be successful in this role, you must be able to demonstrate some experience working hands-on under pressure in a fast-paced cafe or restaurant kitchen is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.

You will need an eye for detail and a commitment to exceptional customer service.  You will be well organised. Some weekend availability is desirable. Availability on public holidays is a must.

Task & Responsibilities

Key tasks and responsibilities are:

• Support the dishwashing team as required.

• Assist in producing nutritious, high quality, well prepared, well presented, and enjoyable food for our customers.

• Assist with general kitchen duties such as cleaning, food preparation, and restocking supplies.

• Ensuring operation of kitchen equipment follows occupational health and safety standards.

• Adhere to all food handling and cleaning practices relating to food hygiene, preparation, storage, and disposal.

• Control and record all wastage.

• Demonstrate behaviours in line with The Chocolateries Way and our core values of Caring, Commitment and Creativity.

 About the Company

The Chocolateries - Yarra Valley has been operating since 2012. We also have established and manage 2 other Chocolateries in Victoria on the Surf Coast near Torquay and the Mornington Peninsula in the seaside village of Flinders.
