About the Role

MCA Engineering is seeking an experienced Engineering Workshop Foreman to lead our workshop operations in Parkes, NSW. This is a permanent leadership role responsible for supervising a team of Boilermakers, and Apprentices while ensuring workshop activities are completed safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.

This is a hands-on role where you will provide leadership, coordinate workflow, mentor apprentices and support the fabrication, repair and maintenance of mining equipment and structural components.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of Boilermakers and Apprentices 
• Plan, schedule and coordinate daily workshop activities to meet project deadlines
• Mentor and develop apprentices and less experienced tradespeople
• Ensure all fabrication, repair and maintenance work meets quality and safety standards
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints and specifications
• Oversee fabrication, assembly and repair of mining equipment and structural steel
• Coordinate procurement of materials and workshop consumables
• Manage workflow, labour allocation and workshop productivity
• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with company and client procedures
• Liaise with project managers, supervisors and clients regarding workshop priorities

What We’re Looking For

• Trade qualification as a Boilermaker/Fabricator
• Demonstrated experience leading workshop teams in mining, engineering or heavy industrial environments
• Proven leadership and people management skills
• Strong knowledge of fabrication, welding and heavy equipment repairs
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• White Card and current driver’s licence
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical including drug & alcohol testing
• Forklift Licence, Dogging or Rigging Tickets, Confined Space, Working at Heights, First Aid Certificate are highly regarded.
