The Role: Elevate the Experience

We are seeking an experienced, high-performing Casual Process Worker - Production to join our team at Melaleuka Farm Merchants Butchery and Food Production (MFM).

Reporting to the Production Chef Manager, this role is central to delivering excellence in butchery and food production. You will ensure every product meets our premium standards through meticulous preparation, trimming, and presentation. Your focus will be driving operational efficiency and maintaining consistent quality assurance, upholding rigorous safety protocols and stock management to ensure a seamless farm-to-table experience that keeps our customers coming back.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Customer Service & Sales: Process customer orders using POS systems, operate scales and labeling machinery, and deliver friendly service, including at weekly Saturday Peel markets.

• Food Prep & Butchery: Hand-cut and trim raw meats, and operate processing equipment such as mincers, slicers, and beef burger machinery.

• Packaging & Stock Control: Pack, label, and price products accurately, receive deliveries, and manage inventory using First-In, First-Out (FIFO) and correct temperature standards.

• Quality & Safety Compliance: Uphold strict food safety, HACCP, and hygiene standards while maintaining a clean, safe work area and ensuring consistent product presentation.

• Team Operations & Logistics: Assist team members with scheduled tasks, manage delivery drop-offs/pick-ups, and participate in ongoing performance and training sessions.

What You'll Bring to the Team

• Communication & Professionalism: Deliver superior service through clear, professional, and courteous interactions that prioritise our team's needs.

• Presentation: Uphold a high standard of grooming and personal appearance consistent with our premium brand.

• Performance Under Pressure: Remain focused and efficient during peak operational times, ensuring excellence never falters.

• Compliance & Safety: Deep proficiency in HACCP, food safety regulations, and WHS protocols to maintain a secure environment.

• Collaborative Spirit: Actively contribute to a dynamic team culture, driving collective performance and operational success.

• Product Expertise: Technical butchery skills including deboning and trimming, paired with culinary knowledge to guide customers on roasting or grilling applications.

• Physical Readiness: Competency in safe knife handling, manual handling of heavy stock, and the ability to thrive in cold-chain production environments and kitchens

Mandatory Requirements

• Food Handlers Certificate.

• Chemform

• Current C Class Driver's Licence
