The Team
5A is a fast-paced surgical ward with a strong interdisciplinary team focused on best patient care and outcomes.5A patient cohort includes the Urology, Colorectal, upper GI and general surgical specialities.The role of CNE on Ward 5A works in close collaboration with the Nursing leadership team across the ward and the wider Department of Surgery to support exemplary evidence based and patient centred care.
The Role
The role of the Clinical Nurse Educator - Surgical Wards (Ward 5A) is to facilitate and support the development of the nursing workforce and ancillary staff as a part of the health care team by planning, promoting, coordinating, implementing and evaluating education programs in the clinical inpatient surgical ward (Ward 5A).

Details of appointment
Permanent part time, day worker position, working 20 hours per fortnight, commencing from 19 November 2026.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary
$118,297 to $125,543 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type
