Head of Learning & Development

As our business continues to evolve and grow, we’re looking for a Head of Learning & Development to lead the way in building the leadership and learning culture that will enable our people and business to thrive.

This role is responsible for developing and executing a learning and capability strategy that supports business performance, leadership excellence and future workforce readiness, while influencing greater alignment and consistency in people capability across Envest’s portfolio of businesses.  

Reporting to the Chief People Officer – Broking, you’ll partner closely with the Executive Leadership Team and senior leaders across the business to create meaningful development experiences that improve individual performance, strengthen leadership capability and accelerate organisational success.

About the role

Build Leadership Capability

• Develop and execute a learning strategy aligned to business priorities and growth objectives.
• Identify critical capability requirements and future skill needs across the organisation.
• Establish capability frameworks that support workforce planning, performance and succession.
• Ensure learning investment delivers measurable business impact.
• Design and oversee leadership development pathways for emerging, people and senior leaders that strengthen succession pipelines and future leadership capability.
• Partner with executives and senior leaders to develop high-performing leaders and teams.
• Embed leadership expectations, values and behaviours across the organisation.

Drive a Culture of Continuous Learning

• Champion a culture where learning, growth and development are embedded into everyday work.
• Introduce innovative and modern approaches to learning and capability development.
• Increase engagement in learning opportunities and promote self-directed development.

Lead Learning Design

• Oversee the design and curation of delivery of engaging learning experiences.
• Leverage digital, virtual, social and classroom learning solutions.
• Manage external panel of learning providers, coaches, facilitators and learning partners.

Support Talent & Organisational Growth

• Partner with People & Culture leaders to support talent development, succession planning and career pathways.
• Enable capability uplift during periods of organisational change and transformation.
• Contribute to broader talent, leadership and organisational effectiveness initiatives.

Harness Data & Technology

• Lead the optimisation of learning technology and systems.
• Use workforce insights and learning analytics to inform decision-making and measure outcomes.
• Establish reporting frameworks that demonstrate the value and impact of learning initiatives.

About you

• Experience leading Learning & Development, Organisational Development, Capability or Talent functions.
• A proven track record developing and executing enterprise-wide learning and capability strategies.
• Experience designing and delivering leadership development programs.
• Exceptional stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to build credibility at executive level.
• Commercial acumen and a strong understanding of how capability drives business performance.
• Experience leveraging learning technologies, digital platforms and data to improve outcomes.
