Clinical Assistant

CQ Eye is seeking a Clinical Assistant to join our team.

Applicants will work alongside other clinical staff, as well as a number of administrative staff and must therefore be able to work as part of a team and have a friendly and positive disposition

This position involves:

• Assisting the doctor in all aspects of patient care to enable efficient and effective patient management

• Consultations with patients to carry out screening tests and medical history

• Answering patient queries 

• Administration tasks as required

• Maintaining medical stock supplies

• Preparation of surgical equipment for sterilisation

• Setting up and assisting the doctor during minor surgical procedures performed within the clinic

This is a full time position, requiring some longer days at times and travel (paid) to our Gladstone clinic 1-2 days a fortnight. There is generally no weekend work though, and days/afternoons are rostered off to compensate for travel and longer days where necessary.

Full training and support will be provided.

Whilst healthcare based experience is preferred; such as - Orthoptic, Ophthalmic assisting, paramedics, nursing, dental, phlebotomy, veterinary nursing or science backgrounds, this position will also suit anyone that is highly motivated and able to demonstrate a keenness to learn, and have excellent communication skills to communicate clearly with patients and colleagues.
