About the role
Nature Conservation Council NSW (NCC) is the state’s leading environmental advocacy organisation. As a peak body, we represent over 200 conservation groups. Our dedicated campaigns for NSW rivers, wetlands, forests and climate are supported by a dedicated team of campaigners and community organisers. Meanwhile, our Healthy Ecosystems team of leading ecologists, scientists, are on the ground using the latest scientific evidence and practical expertise to improve the health of our forests, oceans, rivers, and wildlife, stop extinction, and improve the way we respond to and manage fire.
The organisation was founded in 1955 to give disparate environment groups a voice at the state level and our long legacy has moved the dial for nature in the state.
Our mission is to build, support and maintain a powerful and effective movement for nature. We do this by bringing together the NSW environment movement to run centralised campaigns that exert maximum pressure on decision makers.
Inspiration: we believe in the work we do and strive to inspire others to respect and protect nature.
Respect: we respect the views and opinions of others and consider, fairly and openly, views that might be different to our own.
Integrity: we are professional and honest in our working relationships, and transparent and accountable in our decision-making processes.
Collaboration: we believe we are stronger as a movement and value our culture of participation and building strong partnerships to achieve our goals.
Leadership: we provide leadership through empowerment, sound governance and an inspiring vision.
Recognition: we acknowledge the role First Nations People play in protecting the land and water. NCC undertakes to act in solidarity and partnership with First Nations People in all our work.
Inclusion: we recognise that marginalisation, oppression and injustice impact communities across NSW, and that we all benefit from diversity, accessibility and openness. To win justice for nature and all of us who inhabit it, we must act to build an inclusive movement for all.
NCC is an equal opportunity employer and aims to be as diverse as the country we are trying to protect. We are committed to fostering an inclusive workplace where everyone feels valued and respected. We value the unique backgrounds, experiences and contributions that each person brings to our community and encourage candidates of all backgrounds to apply.
Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander candidates are particularly encouraged to apply.
The Fundraising Officer plays a pivotal role in securing the sustainable, long-term funding required to fuel NCC's critical advocacy and conservation work. Your primary focus will be growing and nurturing our regular giving program (monthly donors), as well as donor engagement for quarterly appeals.
You will manage the end-to-end donor journey:
This role is a mix of data-driven coordination, compelling storytelling, and connected relationship management.
At Nature Conservation Council NSW, you will have the opportunity to work with a passionate team dedicated to making a difference. We offer a supportive work environment and the chance to contribute to protecting and conserving nature in NSW.
