About The Role
As a Disability Support Worker, you will provide individualised, person-centred support to people with disabilities in accordance with their support plans, goals, and preferences.
Your Responsibilities May Include
Direct Support
Assisting with personal care, including showering, dressing and toiletingSupporting daily living activities such as meal preparation, household tasks and community accessAssisting with mobility, transfers and the use of assistive equipmentAdministering medication in accordance with training and organisational proceduresSupporting mealtime management and specialised dietary requirements where required
Health and Wellbeing
Supporting participants to attend health and medical appointmentsProviding High Intensity Daily Personal Activities (where appropriately trained)Following health-related instructions provided by medical professionals
Positive Behaviour Support
Implementing Behaviour Support PlansRecording and reporting behaviours of concernFollowing protocols relating to restrictive practices
Documentation and Compliance
Maintaining accurate progress notes and incident reportsFollowing participant risk assessments and support plansAdhering to organisational policies, safeguarding requirements, and workplace health and safety obligations
Goal-Oriented Support
Supporting participants to achieve their individual goalsEncouraging independence, skill development and community participationPromoting inclusion and meaningful engagement within the community
Available Shift Types
Morning shiftsDay shiftsAfternoon shiftsEvening shiftsSleepover shiftsActive night shiftsWeekends and public holidays

Essential Requirements
NDIS Worker Screening CheckWorking with Children CheckCurrent CPR CertificateCurrent Australian Driver LicenceAccess to a reliable, insured vehicleDemonstrated experience supporting people with diverse disabilitiesWillingness to travel between participant locationsFlexibility to work a range of shifts, including mornings, days, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
Desirable Qualifications And Experience
Certificate III in Individual Support, Certificate IV in Disability, or a related qualification (or currently studying)Experience supporting people with disabilitiesExperience working with complex support needs or behaviours of concern, implementing strategies outlined in Behaviour Support Plans.Understanding of person-centred and trauma-informed approachesKnowledge of NDIS Practice StandardsExperience with digital documentation systems
