We’re looking for an experienced, organised and solutions-focused Compliance & Risk Coordinator to grow and lead our compliance function. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, you’ll become a trusted advisor to the Executive Team, working across the organisation to strengthen governance, manage risk and ensure the Club remains compliant in an increasingly complex regulatory environment.

About the role

Compliance isn’t just about ticking boxes it’s about protecting the organisation, enabling good decision-making and helping the business operate with confidence.

As the Compliance & Risk Coordinator, you’ll play a pivotal role in embedding a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and proactive risk management across the Group.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Coordinating and continually improving the Club’s enterprise risk management framework.
• Monitoring compliance with Liquor & Gaming NSW requirements, WHS legislation, AUSTRAC obligations, privacy legislation and other regulatory requirements.
• Conducting internal compliance reviews, identifying risks and recommending practical improvements.
• Coordinating regulatory audits, inspections and submissions while maintaining strong relationships with external regulators.
• Maintaining policies, procedures and document control systems to ensure they remain current and effective.
• Managing incident reporting, investigations and corrective actions.
• Developing engaging compliance communications and delivering practical training that supports a culture of shared responsibility.
• Working collaboratively with managers to identify operational risks and implement effective controls.
• Preparing meaningful compliance and risk reports for the Executive Team and Board.
• Supporting governance projects and continuous improvement initiatives across the organisation.
• Contributing to the Club’s AI Working Group by identifying opportunities to automate processes, improve reporting and strengthen compliance outcomes using emerging technologies.

About you

You’ll be someone who enjoys bringing structure to complexity, solving problems and helping organisations improve.

You’ll have:

• Experience in compliance, governance, audit or risk management, ideally within hospitality, gaming or another highly regulated industry.
• A sound understanding of regulatory frameworks including Liquor & Gaming NSW, WHS legislation, privacy obligations and AUSTRAC requirements.
• Excellent analytical and organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• The ability to interpret legislation and translate it into practical business processes.
• Strong written communication skills with experience preparing reports, policies and executive documentation.
• Confidence working with regulators, senior leaders and operational teams.
• High levels of integrity, professionalism and discretion when handling confidential information.
• Strong technology skills and a genuine interest in innovation and continuous improvement.
• Experience within the registered club industry will be highly regarded but is not essential.
