This is an exciting leadership opportunity for an experienced Social Work professional to guide and support a dedicated team at Bankstown Hospital. The role is responsible for providing professional leadership, strategic direction, and operational management to Social Work staff, ensuring high-quality, consumer-centred care for patients and their carers. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving service excellence, supporting staff development, and ensuring compliance with SWSLHD policies, relevant legislation, professional standards, and the NSW Health Code of Conduct.
Lead and manage a multidisciplinary Social Work team within a busy acute hospital setting. Drive the delivery of high-quality social work services that support positive patient and carer outcomes. Provide professional supervision, mentorship, and development opportunities for Social Work staff. Ensure service delivery aligns with SWSLHD policies, legislative requirements, and professional standards. Contribute to strategic planning, service improvement initiatives, and the ongoing development of social work practice across the hospital.

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Social Work leader who is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care and driving positive outcomes for patients, carers, and the wider community.
Demonstrated experience leading and managing Social Work teams within a healthcare setting. Strong clinical expertise, including postgraduate experience requiring highly developed assessment, care planning and counselling skills, and a commitment to delivering evidence-based, patient-centred care. Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills. Proven ability to mentor, supervise, and support the professional development of staff. Sound knowledge of NSW Health policies, relevant legislation, professional standards, and the NSW Health Code of Conduct.
