Control Systems Engineer

Randstad are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Control Systems Engineer to join our client’s team. You will play a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining advanced automation and control systems for their mining processing operations, driving efficiency, safety, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Completion of control systems upgrade projects for new and existing mining infrastructure
• Effectively maintain Process Control System (PCS) hardware and software, including PLC code design and architecture
• Diagnose and resolve complex control system network, PLC, and SCADA issues to minimize operational downtime
• Conduct pre-deployment testing (FAT/SAT) and manage site commissioning and handover to the operations team
• Work with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical and process engineers, to ensure seamless integration of control philosophies
• Develop and review functional design specifications and safe work procedures

Essential Skills & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Control, or Mechatronic Engineering
• Extensive, hands-on experience with Schneider PLC platforms is required
• A minimum of 5 years of experience within a heavy industrial environment, ideally mineral processing
• Proficiency in CITECT SCADA programming and development
• Sound understanding of industrial communication networks
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot issues
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong focus on building and maintaining relationships
• Ability to work independently and take initiative to solve problems
• Self motivated with a commitment to safety

Candidates must be able to demonstrate experience in a similar role and preference will be given to those with mining experience. Take this opportunity to secure a rare contract role on an 8/6 FIFO roster with camp accommodation provided.
