About the Opportunity:

Mastermyne is seeking a highly capable HSEQ leader to drive health, safety, environment and training performance across our Southern New South Wales operations. Supporting a growing workforce of 200+ employees across multiple sites, you will play a critical role partnering with project teams to embed strong safety culture, improve systems, and deliver measurable outcomes.

This is a hands-on, operational leadership role where your ability to influence, challenge and support will directly impact business and HSEQ performance and the well-being of our people.

Key responsibilities include but not limited to: 

• Lead and drive HSE, quality and training initiatives across Southern NSW operations;
• Ensure compliance with Legislation, Industry, client and company requirements.
• Provide leadership and guidance to site management teams and underground workers;
• Coordinate and deliver internal and external audit programs in line with HSEQ schedules;
• Support investigations into serious incidents and present findings to senior leadership;
• Deliver engaging health and safety training aligned to operational needs;
• Identify, assess and manage HSEQ risks across multiple projects;
• Contribute to continuous improvement by implementing practical and effective safety solutions;
• Proven ability to influence outcomes and deliver timely results across varied situations;Injury management and return-to-work experience partnering with HSEQ Manager.

About You: 

• Strong underground coal mining safety/operational background;
• Demonstrated experience in a safety leadership position within a coal mining business, at a project, regional or business unit level;
• Ability to influence, challenge and build trust with leaders and frontline teams;
• Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills across all levels;
• Demonstrated ability to deliver outcomes in high-pressure, fast-paced environments;
• High level of professionalism, integrity, discretion and maturity;
• Experienced in delivering HSEQ training as a subject matter expert;
• Strong hazard identification and risk management capability;
• Experience and influencing skills to be able to navigate a path so that outcomes are achieved in a timely manner for the various situations.
