The Opportunity:

• Full-time | Ongoing contract of employment.
• EDC1-3 ($126,410 - $132,290) per annum pro rata + 12% super + leave loading (dependent on qualifications and experience).
• Moorabbin Campus – onsite parking with close proximity to public transport.

The Faculty of Health Science, Community and Social Studies (HSCSS) at Holmesglen provides a progressive, innovative, and supportive teaching environment with strong professional links and partnerships within the health, science, and community services sector. The faculty offers courses from Certificate III through to degree programs in nursing, dental, health, aged care, disability, allied health, science, and a range of community services and justice courses.

Holmesglen is a recognised leader in the delivery of simulation-based education both locally and internationally, with world-class simulation facilities at Moorabbin and Chadstone campuses — preparing nursing, health, and allied health students for professional practice and attracting high-quality industry partners.

The Bachelor of Nursing program collaborates closely with key internal and external stakeholders to provide comprehensive support for students throughout their academic journey. The program is delivered by a highly qualified and diverse academic team with expertise across various nursing specialties, supported by professional staff including administration, simulation, and clinical placement personnel — collectively ensuring a robust and student-centred learning environment.

This role provides academic leadership and coordination for the Bachelor of Nursing program in conjunction with the Head of School, with a focus on management of staff and teaching processes. It is responsible for the effective planning and delivery of the program, including coordination of teaching, resource allocation, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and Institute policies. Working collaboratively within the faculty and with key industry stakeholders, the role supports a culture of continuous improvement through professional development, research, and scholarly activity.

As a Course Lead – Academic Operations (Bachelor of Nursing), you will:

• Provide academic leadership and high-quality teaching within the Bachelor of Nursing program, contributing to its ongoing development, delivery excellence, and student success.
• In conjunction with the Head of School, lead and manage academic staff and teaching teams, including recruitment, induction, performance development, workload planning, timetabling, and fostering a culture of professional development, scholarship, and research.
• In collaboration with the Course Lead – Student Lifecycle, develop, implement, and maintain curriculum and course resources, ensuring alignment with learning outcomes, regulatory requirements, and contemporary evidence-based teaching, learning, and assessment practices.
• In conjunction with the Head of School, oversee course quality and continuous improvement processes, including moderation, validation, evaluation, benchmarking, and compliance with accreditation and institutional requirements.
• Ensure compliance and effective engagement with regulatory bodies and internal governance, including reporting to committees, accreditation/reaccreditation activities, and adherence to all quality and legislative requirements.
• Collaborate with clinical and industry stakeholders to coordinate clinical placements, support clinical educators, and ensure programs remain relevant, compliant, and aligned to industry needs.
• Drive research, scholarship, and industry engagement, fostering innovation, supporting research activities, and maintaining professional currency through partnerships, literature, and practice.
• Contribute to strategic growth and promotion of the program, including market awareness, industry consultation, advisory participation, and supporting initiatives that enhance the profile and sustainability of the Bachelor of Nursing.

To be successful, you'll have:

Minimum

• Degree in Nursing.
• Relevant post-graduate qualification in nursing or related discipline.
• Registration as a Registered Nurse with Ahpra.
• Post-graduate teaching course in higher education, or equivalent work experience.
• WWCC and Police Check: Appointment to this position is dependent on obtaining a Victorian ‘employee’ Working with Children Check, and a valid Police Check within the last 12 months.

Preferred

• Relevant PhD/Professional Doctorate (or demonstrated progress towards completion).
• Extensive experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Australia.
• A relevant management qualification or commitment to undertake a qualification in management and leadership.
