About the role

Mrs Lim Food Corporation Pty Ltd operates the busy food outlets in Maylands, Yokine and South Perth. We are looking for an experienced Retail Manager to take responsibility for the smooth daily running of our store. In a fast-paced food service environment, efficient workflow is paramount. The Retail Manager will coordinate between the front-of-house (service) and back-of-house (kitchen), ensuring orders are taken correctly, food is prepared promptly, and delivered efficiently, while driving sales, controlling costs and maintaining the highest standards of food safety and customer service.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Diploma-level qualification in Hospitality, Retail or Business Management, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Experience in the food and beverage or food retail industry, especially in quick-service restaurants (QSRs) or specialty food outlets, is highly advantageous.
• Prior experience in a supervisory or management role, demonstrating the ability to lead a team and manage daily operations.
• A track record of successfully resolving customer issues and maintaining high customer satisfaction.
• Ability to effectively assign tasks and responsibilities across a team.
• A strong understanding of customer needs and the ability to train staff to deliver exceptional service.
• Quick and effective identification, analysis and resolution of operational challenges (e.g. staffing issues, equipment breakdowns, unexpected rushes).
• Ability to prioritise tasks, multitask, prepare rosters and ensure smooth daily operations.
• Familiarity with health, safety and hygiene regulations relevant to the retail and food service industry.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the store, ensuring smooth workflow in both the front-of-house (service) and back-of-house (kitchen).
• Determining product mix, stock levels and service standards in line with customer demand.
• Managing budgets, controlling costs (e.g. labour, inventory) and analysing sales and financial reports to ensure the store operates efficiently.
• Setting prices in line with company policy and promoting the store’s products and services.
• Recruiting, training and supervising staff on store policies, procedures, menu items, customer service standards and food safety protocols.
• Creating and managing staff rosters to ensure adequate coverage and efficient labour utilisation.
• Addressing employee conflicts, concerns and disciplinary issues in a fair and timely manner.
• Setting and maintaining high standards for customer service, ensuring staff provide prompt and friendly service.
• Effectively resolving customer complaints and issues to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty.
• Managing inventory levels of ingredients, supplies and other necessary items, conducting regular stock counts and minimising waste and shrinkage.
• Coordinating with suppliers, placing orders and managing deliveries to maintain optimal stock levels.
• Ensuring the store is clean, organised and visually appealing to provide a pleasant dining experience.
• Ensuring strict adherence to food safety, hygiene and sanitation standards, and compliance with all relevant workplace health and safety regulations for both employees and customers.
