Senior Medical Receptionist

Our practice has provided medical care for the community for the past 30 years. We are a long-established practice of friendly doctors and staff looking for a new member to join our team at reception.

Our practice has been providing high-quality medical care to the local community for over 30 years. We are a long-established, busy and friendly General Practice with a supportive team of doctors, nurses and reception staff.

We are looking for a warm, bright and energetic Medical Receptionist who will also provide administrative and operational support to the Practice Manager. This is a varied role suited to someone who enjoys working at a fast pace, takes initiative and is happy to move between front reception and behind-the-scenes practice administration.

Qualifications & experience

• Previous General Practice experience using Best Practice software
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask, prioritise and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Sound knowledge of Medicare billing, invoicing and handling payments
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a warm, friendly and professional manner
• Self-motivated, proactive and a quick learner who takes initiative and ownership of tasks
• Reliable, punctual and able to contribute positively as part of a busy team

Tasks & responsibilities

• General medical reception and administrative duties, including patient service, appointments, billing and payments
• Build rapport with patients and help create a warm, welcoming and vibrant atmosphere at reception
• Assist the Practice Manager with delegated administrative and operational tasks, including new initiatives and implementation of practice changes
• Complete audits, reporting and quality improvement activities, while identifying opportunities to improve workflows, patient service and practice efficiency
• Assist with rosters, claiming, patient engagement, preventative health initiatives and other practice administration as required
• Be flexible and willing to move between reception and administrative duties depending on the needs of the practice
• Work efficiently, follow through on delegated tasks and contribute energy, initiative and a helpful attitude to the team

Pay: From $40.00 per hour
