As a growing NDIS Registered Provider, we're looking for an experienced and passionate Disability Team Leader to lead our Supported Independent Living (SIL) services.

This is an opportunity for someone who believes great leadership happens alongside their team—not from behind a desk. You'll lead by example, coach and mentor Disability Support Workers, and help create environments where participants are empowered to live with choice, dignity, independence and meaningful community inclusion.

About the Role

This is a hands-on leadership position where you'll spend the majority of your time supporting participants alongside your team while providing frontline leadership, coaching and operational oversight.

You'll be responsible for ensuring participants receive high-quality, person-centred supports that align with the NDIS Practice Standards, Code of Conduct and safeguarding principles.

Working closely with leadership, families, Support Coordinators and Allied Health professionals, you'll create positive outcomes for participants while building a confident, capable and engaged support team.

What You'll Be Doing

Leadership & Practice

• Lead, mentor and coach Disability Support Workers through hands-on practice leadership.

• Model best-practice person-centred and strengths-based supports.

• Foster a positive, collaborative and accountable team culture.

• Conduct regular supervision, performance conversations and professional development.

• Support recruitment, onboarding and ongoing staff development.

• Promote continuous improvement and encourage innovation across service delivery.

Participant Outcomes

• Empower participants to exercise choice, control and independence.

• Support participants with daily living, personal care, community participation and skill development.

• Assist staff to implement Behaviour Support Plans and positive behaviour support strategies.

• Work collaboratively with participants, families, guardians, Support Coordinators and Allied Health professionals.

• Advocate for participant goals while ensuring dignity, respect and inclusion remain central to every interaction.

Quality & Compliance

• Ensure services align with participant goals, NDIS funding and organisational policies.

• Monitor documentation for quality, accuracy and compliance.

• Identify trends, risks and opportunities to improve participant outcomes.

• Manage incidents, reportable incidents, restrictive practices and safeguarding responsibilities.

• Support medication management, risk assessments and quality improvement initiatives.

• Maintain high standards in line with the NDIS Practice Standards and organisational expectations.

Operations

• Assist with day-to-day house operations and service coordination.

• Work collaboratively with leadership regarding staffing, rosters and service delivery.

• Promote effective communication across multidisciplinary teams.

• Support a safe, well-organised and welcoming home environment for participants and staff.

About You

You're a confident leader who enjoys supporting others to succeed.

You remain calm under pressure, communicate openly, and naturally build trust with participants, families and your team.

You lead by example, enjoy mentoring others and are committed to continually improving the quality of support delivered.

You'll also bring:

• Demonstrated leadership experience within the disability, community, health or aged care sectors.

• Strong understanding of person-centred, strengths-based and trauma-informed practice.

• Experience supporting people with complex support needs, including behaviours of concern and mental health presentations.

• Knowledge of Behaviour Support Plans, restrictive practices and positive behaviour support.

• Sound understanding of safeguarding, incident management and NDIS compliance requirements.

• Excellent organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.

• High attention to detail with strong documentation skills.

• A proactive, resilient and solution-focused approach.

• Commitment to continuous learning and developing others.

Essential Requirements

• Current South Australian Driver's Licence.

• Certificate IV in Disability (preferred) or minimum Certificate III in Individual Support, Disability or equivalent.

• Current NDIS Worker Screening Check.

• Working with Children Check.

• DHS Employment Screening (where applicable).

• Current First Aid and CPR Certificate.

• Medication Administration Certificate (with practical assessment).

• Manual Handling Certificate.

• Through Their Eyes (or willingness to obtain).

• Right to work in Australia.
