About the Role

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our team, with a focus on commercial HVAC and mechanical services.

This is an excellent opportunity for a developing engineer with approximately 1–5 years' relevant experience who is looking to build their technical and project experience within a supportive and experienced team.

The successful applicant will work closely with our engineering and project teams and gain exposure to a diverse range of commercial HVAC projects, from estimating and design through to construction and delivery.

Salary: $85,000 – $95,000 + superannuation, depending on skills and experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and coordinate accurate shop/workshop drawings for commercial HVAC projects.

• Select appropriate HVAC equipment and undertake equipment and ESP calculations.

• Assist in developing practical and effective engineering solutions for commercial mechanical services.

• Prepare design and construction documentation, including drawings, quality control documentation and equipment technical data.

• Review drawings and technical documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with project requirements.

• Conduct quality checks and assist with quality assurance processes.

• Provide value engineering solutions where appropriate.

• Assist with project estimating and preparation of tender documentation.

• Work collaboratively with project managers, drafting staff, site teams, suppliers and other stakeholders to support successful project delivery.

About You

You will be a technically minded and motivated Mechanical Engineer with an interest in commercial HVAC and mechanical services.

You will have:

• A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, majoring in Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent recognised qualification.

• Approximately 1–5 years' relevant engineering experience, preferably within HVAC, building services or commercial construction.

• An understanding of HVAC systems and mechanical services.

• Knowledge of HVAC equipment selection and ESP calculations.

• Experience with or an understanding of workshop/shop drawing preparation.

• An understanding of relevant Australian Standards and the NCC/BCA.

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

• Excellent attention to detail and a practical approach to engineering.

• Good communication, organisation and time-management skills.

• The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
