About the role
THE ROLE
We are seeking a seasoned, commercially astute, and people-focused Senior Business Manager to lead and scale our high-performing loan-writing team. This is a hands-on leadership role that owns the performance of an online, phone-based auto-loan intermediary sales operation — from lead allocation and pipeline discipline through to approval, settlement, and continuous conversion improvement.
Sitting at the centre of our sales engine, you will coach and manage a team of Business Managers, set the cadence and standards that turn pre-qualified leads into settled loans, and partner with our OEM, lender, and novated-lease partners to keep every deal moving. The ideal candidate has built and run remote, telephone-based finance sales teams before and knows exactly how to lift a team's quoting, approval, and settlement rates.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Business Manager, you will be the primary point of contact for our customers, championing their application from start to finish. Your duties will include:
1. Customer Engagement & Needs Analysis
· Manage a high-volume pipeline of inbound, pre-qualified customer leads, establishing rapid rapport and trust.
· Conduct thorough and responsible lending interviews to assess financial situations and borrowing capacity in line with NCCP guidelines.
· Structure tailored Finance & Insurance (F&I) solutions that meet unique customer objectives while protecting the customer’s best interests.
2. Application Preparation & F&I Management
· Collect and verify all necessary customer documentation (payslips, bank statements, identification, etc.).
· Accurately package detailed finance applications for submission to the most suitable lender from our extensive panel.
· Quote and sell secondary products, including comprehensive insurance, extended warranties, and loan protection, to provide a complete ownership experience.
· Structure applications effectively to maximise the chance of a first-time approval.
3. Lender & Stakeholder Management
· Act as the primary liaison between the customer and the lender, advocating on behalf of your customer to negotiate the best possible terms and conditions.
· Maintain clear, consistent, and proactive communication with the customer, providing regular updates on the status of their application.
4. Closing, PPSR & Settlement
· Clearly explain finance approval details, interest rates, and loan terms with total transparency.
· Prepare and manage the signing of all loan and finance documentation with meticulous attention to detail.
· Perform necessary PPSR (Personal Property Securities Register) searches and registrations.
· Work with the operations team to facilitate a smooth settlement process, ensuring funds are available and receipted in a timely manner.
5. Commercial Performance & Compliance
· Consistently achieve agreed monthly settlement targets and KPIs.
· Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all customer interactions and application details in the CRM.
· Manage the finance log and produce performance reporting to support strong commercial outcomes.
· Ensure all activities are conducted in strict adherence to NCCP, responsible lending obligations, and Fintorq’s internal compliance policies.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Experience & Knowledge
• 3–5 years of proven experience leading and managing an online, telephone-based auto-loan (or asset-finance) intermediary / brokerage sales team — building the team, setting the sales cadence, and lifting conversion.
• Demonstrated track record of hitting and exceeding team settlement targets in a remote / call-centre finance sales environment.
• Deep understanding of consumer credit principles, loan structuring, F&I, and lender credit policies.
• Strong working knowledge of the NCCP Act and responsible-lending obligations.
• Hands-on experience with lender application portals, modern CRM platforms, and sales performance / pipeline reporting.
• Experience managing novated-lease and/or OEM-sourced lead flows is highly regarded.
Skills & Attributes
• Leadership & Coaching: A natural people-leader who motivates, develops, and holds a team accountable while keeping morale high.
• Sales Management: Expert at running a phone-based sales floor — cadence, scripts, objection handling, and conversion discipline.
• Data-Driven: Comfortable using funnel metrics and reporting to diagnose problems and drive decisions.
• Communication: Exceptional interpersonal and stakeholder-management skills across customers, BMs, lenders, and partners.
• Resilience & Drive: Thrives under pressure, leads from the front, and sustains high performance in a fast-moving environment.
• Integrity: Unquestionable ethical standards and a commitment to compliant practices.
WHY JOIN US?
Lead a High-Quality Engine: We supply high-quality, pre-qualified leads — your team focuses on engaging customers and writing deals, not cold prospecting.
Success is Rewarded: A competitive salary package with a generous retainer and an attractive, uncapped commission / bonus structure tied to team performance.
A Powerful Partner Panel: Access a diverse panel of lenders and novated-lease partners, giving your team the flexibility to solve for a wide range of customer profiles.
Modern Technology & Support: Work with a streamlined digital platform and a dedicated operations team, so your team spends more time selling.
Build Something: Real ownership to shape the sales team, processes, and playbooks of a fast-growing, well-backed fintech.
Winning Culture: Join a supportive, high-energy team that celebrates success and invests in your professional development.
