This is a unique opportunity to join a well-established contract. As a Track Inspector you will be part of a dedicated close-knit team who support and take pride in maintaining the rail infrastructure connecting Brisbane Airport to the Queensland Rail network.

About The Role

You will be responsible for inspecting, assessing, maintaining and repairing rail infrastructure to ensure the safe and efficient operation of train services. Working within a small, highly experienced team, you will play a critical role in identifying defects, implementing corrective actions, and maintaining rail safety standards. Key responsibilities include –

Inspect track infrastructure (sleepers, rail, ballast, turnouts, drainage systems, bridges, culverts, signage and the rail corridor)Measuring and assessing track condition against prescribed standardsDiagnosing and reporting track defects, irregularities and potential safety issuesPerform fault finding, repairs, emergency maintenance activitiesApplying and monitoring speed restrictions when requiredLiaising with train control regarding track activities and operational irregularitiesGeneral maintenance across stations, offices and rail corridorContribute to continuous improvement initiatives and maintain a strong safety culture

Required Skills And Experience

Previous rail industry and rail maintenance experience is essential for this role. You will also have sound knowledge of rail safety principles and compliance requirements.

You must have full working rights and can satisfy a Rail Category 2 medical and police checks as a requirement for the role.
