The role is suited to a technically strong Manager or an established Assistant Manager ready to step up into broader responsibility.
 
Rather than operating under a rigid team structure, the firm uses an open scheduling model that allocates work based on client needs, staff capabilities, and capacity. That gives this role a broader cross-section of work and client exposure, while still allowing time for client relationship development and leadership across engagements.
 
About Our Client
Our client is a long-established accounting and advisory firm based in Parramatta, providing services across audit and assurance, business advisory, financial reporting, forensic accounting, international taxation, management accounting, superannuation, tax advisory and wealth and investment structuring. They work closely with private businesses and their owners, high-net-worth individuals, and subsidiaries of foreign companies, positioning themselves as a long-term partner that is responsive and commercially useful beyond compliance.
 
The firm has staff with broad exposure across business services and audit work, and a culture that prioritises technical capability, structured assessment, and a strong fit with the broader team. The Role
As a Business Services Manager, you will work across a diverse portfolio of business services and tax clients, providing high-level accounting, taxation and advisory support while leading delivery across multiple engagements. This is a visible role with direct exposure to all Directors and regular involvement in more complex client matters.
 
Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing a diverse portfolio of business services and tax clients across a range of industries
• Reviewing financial statements, tax returns and management reports
• Providing strategic business and taxation advice to clients
• Leading, mentoring and developing accountants across engagements
• Building strong client relationships through proactive communication and commercially relevant advice
• Managing workflow, scheduling and engagement delivery to ensure work is completed on time and to standard
• Working closely with Directors on complex accounting and tax matters
  Supporting practice development and contributing to the growth of the firm's advisory offering

 
This role would suit someone who is comfortable balancing technical depth, client management, and people leadership, and who wants to work at a firm that expects strong judgement rather than overreliance on templates or AI-assisted answers.
 
What You'll Bring

• CA or CPA qualified
• Strong public practice background in business services and taxation
• Current Manager experience, or Assistant Manager experience, with readiness to step up
• Demonstrated technical capability across financial reporting, tax and advisory work
• Confidence in managing client relationships and leading engagements
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills
• Sound professional judgement and a proactive, hands-on approach
• Experience with APS, Xero, FYI or similar accounting software would be advantageous
