Role Description The Factory and Production Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Sydney, NSW, responsible for overseeing daily operations in the workshop and production facility. This role manages scheduling, resource allocation, and workflow to ensure custom joinery and kitchen products are manufactured accurately, safely, and on time. The manager coordinates staff, supervises quality control, monitors inventory and materials, and ensures machinery and equipment are maintained properly. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing job plans and drawings, aligning production with client specifications, enforcing health and safety standards, and collaborating with design, sales, and installation teams to support seamless project delivery. The role also involves continuous improvement of production processes, cost control, and staff training to maintain high standards and efficiency.
Qualifications
Strong experience in factory, workshop, or production management within joinery, cabinetry, or a related manufacturing environment.Proficiency in production planning, scheduling, and workflow optimisation to meet deadlines and maintain quality.Hands-on knowledge of joinery or cabinet-making processes, materials, tools, and machinery, with a focus on safety and maintenance.Proven ability to lead, mentor, and coordinate a diverse team, including tradespeople and apprentices, in a collaborative manner.Competence in reading and interpreting technical drawings, plans, and specifications for custom-made products.Experience with quality assurance practices, inspections, and adherence to industry standards and regulations.Solid organisational, problem-solving, and time-management skills, with attention to detail and commitment to craftsmanship.Familiarity with inventory control, material ordering, and cost management in a manufacturing or joinery setting.Basic computer skills and ability to use production management or job-tracking software.Relevant trade qualification or certification (e.g., cabinet making, joinery, carpentry) or equivalent industry experience.Understanding of workplace health and safety requirements and ability to implement safe working practices.Ability to communicate clearly with clients, internal teams, and suppliers and to represent the
