About the role
Glenview Construction is a growing Western Australian civil contractor delivering civil, concrete and earthworks projects across the mining, infrastructure, energy and industrial sectors.
We work alongside some of Australia’s leading contractors on projects throughout Western Australia, with a strong focus on practical delivery, quality workmanship and building long-term client relationships.
As a growing business with a hands-on team, our people have the opportunity to make a genuine contribution. You won’t simply be one engineer within a large department – you’ll work closely with our project teams and management and gain visibility across the full project lifecycle.
Due to continued growth, we are seeking a motivated Civil Engineer to join our team on an initial 12-month contract, with the potential to extend or develop into a longer-term opportunity.
About the RoleThis is a varied role combining Perth office-based work with FIFO/site-based project support across Western Australia.
You’ll be involved in projects from tender and planning through to mobilisation, construction and close-out. Depending on current project requirements, you may spend periods on site supporting delivery before returning to our Perth office to assist with engineering, estimating, procurement and project management.
For someone who enjoys variety and wants to understand how projects are actually won, planned and delivered, this role provides exposure that can be difficult to gain within larger organisations.
Key ResponsibilitiesAssist with the planning and delivery of civil, concrete and earthworks projects.
Prepare construction methodologies, ITPs, SWMS, QA documentation and project deliverables.
Provide technical and engineering support to site supervisors and project teams.
Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, materials and project resources.
Monitor project progress, productivity, quantities and costs.
Prepare procurement schedules, material take-offs and project documentation.
Assist with tendering, estimating and project planning.
Attend FIFO project sites to support and oversee construction activities.
Liaise directly with clients, consultants, suppliers and other project stakeholders.
Assist with variations, progress reporting and project close-out.
Ensure works are delivered in accordance with applicable safety, quality, environmental and technical requirements.
We are looking for someone who is practical, motivated and comfortable taking ownership of their work.
Ideally, you will have:
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
Minimum 2 years’ Australian civil construction experience.
Experience in civil infrastructure, earthworks and/or concrete construction.
A sound understanding of Australian Standards and civil construction practices.
Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a small project team.
Willingness to work FIFO when required and regularly from our Perth office.
Current Australian Driver’s Licence.
Current Australian working rights.
Experience with any of the following would be advantageous:
AutoCAD, Civil 3D or 12d.
Microsoft Project.
Mining, Defence, infrastructure or energy projects.
Concrete and FRP works.
Estimating, procurement or commercial/project administration.
White Card and First Aid Certificate.
We welcome applications from suitable visa holders with Australian working rights who meet the experience requirements of the role.
As our projects are delivered across regional Western Australia, there may also be opportunities for eligible visa holders to undertake work in locations that can contribute towards applicable regional or specified work requirements, subject to individual visa conditions and project availability.
What We OfferCompetitive salary package based on experience.
Initial 12-month contract with potential to extend.
Applicable FIFO/site allowances.
A genuine mix of office and site-based engineering.
Exposure to major mining, infrastructure, energy and industrial projects throughout WA.
Direct involvement across tendering, planning, procurement, construction and project close-out.
The opportunity to work closely with experienced management and project teams.
A small-team environment where good ideas, initiative and individual contributions are noticed and valued.
Opportunity for career progression into as the business continues to grow.
If you’re looking for a role where you can broaden your experience, take on responsibility and be involved in more than one part of the project lifecycle, we’d like to hear from you.
Apply now with your resume and a brief cover letter outlining your civil construction experience and current working rights.
