Service Electrician – Domestic & Commercial

 Maines Electrical is growing, and we're looking for an experienced Service Electrician to join our team.

 For us, a great service electrician is more than someone who is technically capable.

 We're looking for someone who presents well, communicates confidently, thinks for themselves and genuinely enjoys problem-solving.

 Someone who can walk into a customer's home or business, represent Maines Electrical professionally and take ownership of the job from start to finish.

The Role

You'll be working independently across Brisbane and surrounding areas on a varied mix of domestic and commercial service work. No two days are exactly the same.

Typical work includes:

• Fault finding and electrical repairs

• Domestic service and maintenance

• Commercial service and maintenance

• Electrical breakdowns

• Lighting and power repairs and installations

• Switchboard repairs and upgrades

• Circuit installations and alterations

• Smoke alarm installations and compliance work

• Testing and fault diagnosis

• Preventative electrical maintenance

• Small installation and upgrade works

• Communicating directly with customers

• Completing clear job reports and documentation

One day you might be tracing an intermittent fault in a house. The next you could be diagnosing a commercial lighting issue, repairing a switchboard or identifying a better solution for a customer.

 If you enjoy variety and using your head, you'll enjoy this role.

The Person We're Looking For

We're not looking for someone who simply turns up, follows instructions and moves on to the next job. We want someone who thinks.

Someone who looks at the whole job, asks the right questions and works out the best way to solve the problem.

You'll ideally be the type of electrician who:

• Holds a current QLD Electrical Licence

• Has solid service and maintenance experience

• Enjoys fault finding and problem-solving

• Can work independently without needing constant direction

• Presents professionally and takes pride in their appearance

• Is comfortable dealing directly with customers

• Communicates clearly with customers and office staff

• Takes ownership of their jobs

• Takes pride in quality workmanship

• Notices when something isn't right and speaks up

• Can identify additional or preventative works

• Provides accurate information for quoting and follow-up works

• Is reliable and punctual

• Looks after their vehicle, tools and equipment

• Holds a current manual driver's licence

• Works safely and follows company procedures

We need someone customers feel comfortable having in their home or business and someone our office can trust to represent Maines Electrical properly when you're out in the field.

• If you find the fault, understand why it happened, not just how to make it work again.
