Prence Plumbing Service is a third-generation, family-owned plumbing company established in 1973. We work across residential, commercial, maintenance, renovation, new home and construction plumbing projects, with a strong focus on quality workmanship, reliability and long-term relationships with our builders and clients. 

Our business is growing, and we are looking for a motivated 1st Year Apprentice Plumber to join our team.  

At Prence Plumbing Service, we are committed to developing our apprentices into highly skilled licensed plumbers. Throughout your apprenticeship you will receive mentoring from experienced tradespeople, exposure to all areas of plumbing, and opportunities to build a rewarding long-term career within our growing business. 

This role is ideal for someone looking to start their plumbing career. We are seeking a motivated, reliable and hardworking individual with a positive attitude, a willingness to learn, and a genuine interest in the plumbing industry. No previous plumbing experience is required—we'll provide the training and support you need to succeed. 

About the Role 

As a First-Year Apprentice Plumber, you will work alongside our qualified plumbers and experienced team leaders while completing your apprenticeship. 

You will gain hands-on experience across a wide variety of plumbing disciplines including: 

• Residential construction  

• Commercial construction  

• Maintenance plumbing  

• Renovations  

• Drainage and sewer work  

• Stormwater installations  

• Roofing and rainwater systems  

• Gas fitting  

• Hot water services  

Your duties will include: 

• Assisting qualified plumbers with installations and repairs  

• Learning to safely use plumbing tools and equipment  

• Carrying materials and preparing work areas  

• Excavation and trenching  

• Measuring, cutting and assembling pipework  

• Maintaining a clean and safe worksite  

• Loading and unloading vehicles  

• Learning Australian plumbing standards and industry best practices  

• Attending TAFE and completing apprenticeship requirements

What We’re Looking For 

• 1st Year Apprentice Plumber  

• White card (or willingness to obtain before commencing) 

• Current Australian driver’s licence  

• Eligibility to work in Australia  

• Honest, reliable, punctual and trustworthy  

• Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship  

• Good communication skills with clients, builders and team members  

• Ability to work in a team 

• Basic hand tool experience (desirable but not essential) 

• Experience in residential construction and maintenance would be an advantage
