Secondary HSIE Teacher - Commencing Term 1, 2027

We are seeking an exceptional and dedicated educator to join our HSIE Faculty as a HSIE Teacher, commencing Term 1, 2027.

This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated teacher to inspire curiosity, critical thinking and real-world learning through the study of Geography, Business Studies and Commerce. The successful applicant will be committed to delivering engaging and innovative learning experiences that challenge students to think critically about economic, environmental and social issues in a rapidly changing world.

This is a Permanent Full-Time teaching position commencing 27 January 2027.

The HSIE Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning programs across Geography, Business Studies and Commerce, including Stage 6 courses.

Working collaboratively with colleagues within the HSIE Faculty and across the College, the successful applicant will contribute to curriculum development, assessment practices, student achievement initiatives and the broader co-curricular life of the College.

The successful applicant will be an excellent classroom practitioner with strong interpersonal skills, a commitment to evidence-informed practice and the ability to inspire students to achieve their personal best.

The successful applicant will demonstrate:

• A working understanding of, and commitment to, the Catholic ethos of a School in the Edmund Rice tradition.
• Demonstrated understanding of appropriate behaviours and professional boundaries that reflect child safeguarding values in practice.
• NESA Accreditation and approval to teach in NSW.
• Qualifications and experience teaching Geography, Business Studies and Commerce.
• Experience teaching Stage 6 Geography and/or Business Studies.
• Demonstrated excellence as a classroom practitioner.
• Strong curriculum knowledge and understanding of contemporary teaching and learning practices.
• The ability to engage, challenge and support students of varying abilities.
• A commitment to evidence-informed practice and continuous improvement.
• Exceptional communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to build productive relationships with students, staff and families.
• A willingness to contribute to the co-curricular life of the College.

Highly Desirable

• Experience teaching HSC Geography, Business Studies and Commerce.
• Experience using student achievement data to inform teaching and learning programs.
• Experience contributing to curriculum development and faculty improvement initiatives.
