Spectrum Surface Treatment is looking for an experienced Abrasive Blaster to join our growing team.

We are a busy industrial blasting and protective coatings company working across the mining, infrastructure, structural steel and industrial sectors.

We’re looking for someone who can work efficiently, maintain a high standard of surface preparation and contribute to a productive workshop team.

The Role

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Abrasive blasting of structural steel and industrial equipment

• Blasting to specified standards, including Sa 2.5, Sa 3

• Achieving specified surface profiles

• Preparing steel for protective coating application

• Checking completed work for cleanliness and quality

• Masking and protecting areas where required

• Operating blasting equipment safely and efficiently

• General maintenance and cleaning of blasting equipment

• Moving and positioning steel for blasting & painting

• Maintaining a clean and safe work area

• Working with supervisors, painters and QA personnel to keep jobs moving through production

• Unloading and loading trucks as required

About You

Ideally, you will have:

• Previous abrasive blasting experience

• Experience working with structural steel or industrial equipment

• Good understanding of blast cleanliness standards and surface preparation

• Ability to work efficiently without compromising quality

• Strong safety awareness

• Good reliability and attendance

• Ability to work as part of a fast-paced production team

• Forklift and/or dogging/rigging tickets are advantageous
