Join the team at Tanuki, a vibrant modern Japanese izakaya in the heart of Double Bay. Featuring a sushi bar, robata grill, extensive sake and wine program, and late-night dining, Tanuki delivers polished yet energetic service in one of Sydney’s most exciting dining rooms.

We’re looking for experienced and enthusiastic casual waitstaff to join our front-of-house team, with a strong focus on Friday, Saturday and Sunday availability.

About you

• At least 1-2 years experience in a busy restaurant
• Confident running your own section
• Passion for food, wine and hospitality
• Professional presentation and positive attitude
• Able to thrive in a busy service while maintaining attention to detail
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Current NSW RSA
• Full Australian working rights

Japanese food or sake knowledge is an advantage, but not essential—we’re happy to train the right person.

The role

• Deliver warm, attentive and knowledgeable service
• Guide guests through our food, wine, cocktail and sake offerings
• Work closely with the kitchen and bar teams to ensure seamless service
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organisation and professionalism throughout every shift
