About the Facility

Macleod Aged Care is a 52‑bed residential aged care home in Macleod, Melbourne, close to public transport and local amenities. The home offers comfortable accommodation, communal lounges and a supportive, community‑focused care team.

We are looking for Cleaner and Laundry Assistant to join our aged care team at Macleod Aged Care, in a (Casual) capacity.

About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Cleaner / Laundry Assistant to join our aged care team. In this hands-on role, you will help maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents while also ensuring laundry services are delivered to a high standard.

This is a fast-paced, varied role ideal for someone who enjoys staying active, working as part of a supportive team, and making a meaningful difference every day.

What You Will Be Doing

• Perform general cleaning duties including vacuuming, mopping, dusting, and sanitising surfaces
• Clean and maintain resident rooms, bathrooms, and common areas
• Wash, dry, fold, and distribute residents’ clothing and facility linen
• Ensure correct handling, sorting, and labelling of laundry items
• Maintain high standards of hygiene, infection control, and cleanliness at all times
• Manage waste disposal and restocking of cleaning and laundry supplies
• Operate cleaning and laundry equipment safely and efficiently
• Work collaboratively with care and hospitality teams to support a homely environment

What You Will Bring

• Previous experience in cleaning or laundry (preferred but not essential)
• Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Good time management and ability to follow routines and procedures
• Physical capability to perform manual handling tasks
• Reliable, positive, and team-focused attitude
• Understanding of hygiene and infection control practices (or willingness to learn)
• A National Police Clearance or NDIS Screening Check, or willingness to obtain this
