Who we're looking for

An accountant to join our dedicated SMSF team. You will have some SMSF processing experience (1+ years in public practice or SMSF administration / accounting) with intermediate technical knowledge of self-managed superannuation funds and Australian superannuation legislation. You'll be detail-oriented, proactive, and passionate about delivering high-quality outcomes for clients. CA/CPA qualified or studying towards completion will be highly regarded.

 What you'll be doing

• Preparing financial statements and annual accounts for a portfolio of Self-Managed Superannuation Funds (SMSFs).

• Preparing SMSF annual returns and coordinating compliance requirements.

• Liaising with auditors and assisting with the completion of SMSF audits.

• Monitoring fund compliance and identifying potential breaches of superannuation legislation.

• Processing contributions, pensions, investment transactions and benefit payments.

• Assisting with the establishment, wind-up and restructuring of SMSFs where required.

• Supporting advisers and partners with strategic superannuation and retirement planning matters.

• Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and external stakeholders.

• Assisting with workflow management and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the SMSF team.

• Supporting and mentoring junior team members where appropriate.

About you

• Some experience preparing SMSF financial statements and annual returns.

• Sound understanding of the Superannuation Industry (Supervision) Act (SIS Act) and SMSF compliance requirements.

• Experience with SMSF software such as Class, BGL 360 or similar platforms.

• Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.

• Ability to manage competing priorities and work independently.

• Professional communication and relationship-building skills.

• CA/CPA qualified or currently studying towards qualification (desirable).

• A genuine interest in superannuation, retirement planning and ongoing professional development.
