Business Development Manager

About the role: 
We're looking for an experienced Business Development Manager with a strong background in commercial asset finance or commercial lending to join one of Plenti's fastest-growing business divisions.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in our continued growth by building high-value broker relationships, winning new business, and helping businesses access the finance they need to grow.

As the Business Development Manager for your territory, you'll be responsible for developing and expanding a portfolio of commercial asset finance brokers, identifying new opportunities, strengthening strategic partnerships, and positioning Plenti as a preferred lender in the broker market. Key responsibilities: 

• Develop and execute a territory growth strategy focused on commercial asset finance brokers.
• Identify, onboard, and activate new broker relationships to expand Plenti's market presence.
• Build trusted partnerships with brokers and increase engagement, utilisation, and share of wallet.
• Work strategically with key accounts to position Plenti as a preferred Top 3 lender.
• Generate consistent lending growth by increasing deal flow and origination volumes.
• Conduct regular broker meetings, portfolio reviews, and business planning sessions.
• Stay informed on competitor activity, industry trends, and market developments, providing insights that support product and process improvements.
• Partner closely with Relationship Managers and the wider Commercial Lending team to deliver an exceptional broker experience.
• Confidently present Plenti's value proposition, products, and competitive advantages to brokers and industry partners.

About You:  

• Minimum 3 years' experience in a Business Development role within commercial lending, commercial asset finance, equipment finance, business banking, or a related financial services environment.
• Strong understanding of the commercial asset finance broker market.
• Demonstrated success growing broker portfolios and increasing lending volumes.
• Proven ability to win new business while developing long-term strategic relationships.
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to identify growth opportunities and influence stakeholders.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• A proactive, self-driven approach with a passion for delivering outstanding customer outcomes.
• Experience using sales data and performance insights to drive business decisions.
