Garage Door Technician

About the role

Barry Smith Garage Doors is seeking a motivated person to join our team as a Garage Door Technician.

This is a full-time position based in Erina, NSW 2250. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing garage doors and associated systems for our valued customers. As a key member of our service team, you will play an essential part in ensuring customer satisfaction and maintaining the reputation of Barry Smith Garage Doors as a trusted provider of quality garage door solutions.

No experience is necessary but preferred.

Key responsibilities

• Install new garage door systems, including doors, openers, and safety equipment, ensuring compliance with all relevant standards and regulations

• Perform routine maintenance and inspections on existing garage door systems to identify potential issues and prevent breakdowns

• Diagnose and repair faulty garage doors, openers, springs, cables, and other components using appropriate tools and techniques

• Respond promptly to emergency service calls and provide efficient troubleshooting and repairs

• Provide clear and professional advice to customers regarding their garage door systems and recommended maintenance schedules

• Ensure all work areas are kept clean and safe, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times

• Contribute to the ongoing success of the business by delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining professional conduct

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as a garage door technician or in a similar technical role within the trades industry (not critical but preferred)

• Strong knowledge of garage door systems, including electric openers, springs, cables, and safety mechanisms ( NOT REQUIRED, learning on site)

• Proficiency in using hand and power tools safely and effectively

• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose technical faults accurately

• A valid driver's licence and a reliable vehicle for travel to our location

• Outstanding customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients

• Physical fitness and the ability to work at heights and in confined spaces where required

• A POLICE CHECK and WORKING WITH CHILDREN checks for employment
