About the role
Team Leader | Wellness Australia Group
Hope Island | Part Time or Full Time
Seeking LEADERS in the disability and mental health sector that want to make the ordinary extraordinary.
At Wellness Australia Group (WAG), we are expanding our team of changemakers. We’re seeking an inspiring Team Leader who is ready to lead with integrity, compassion, and innovation – helping us make the ordinary, extraordinary.
Are you a natural leader with a passion for inclusion, kindness, and empowering others?
Do you thrive on building strong teams and creating positive outcomes for people living with disability?
About Us
Wellness Australia Group is a registered NDIS service provider with a vision of creating inclusive communities where people thrive. Guided by our values of Kindness, Respect, Integrity, Innovation, Equity, Collaboration, Adaptability, and Pride, we provide high-quality supports across South East Queensland.
Our people are the heart of our organisation – we celebrate individuality, foster belonging, and ensure every participant, family, and team member feels supported, valued, and empowered.
About the Role
The Team Leader plays a vital role in supporting the Care Manager and guiding our frontline teams to deliver person-centred, values-based supports. This role is about much more than coordination – it’s a hands on role, working directly with our clients and creating a positive team culture, going above and beyond for participants, and ensuring we meet (and exceed) the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Standards.
You’ll be trusted to:
Lead, supervise, and inspire Disability Support Workers, ensuring a safe, motivated, and solution-focused team.
Build strong, respectful relationships with participants, families, and guardians.
Coordinate daily operations, rosters, and resources alongside the Care Manager.
Ensure compliance with the NDIS Practice Standards, Disability Services Act, and all relevant legislation.
Provide coaching, professional development, and induction for new team members.
Support participants with complex needs in ways that foster dignity, independence, and joy.
Maintain clear and accurate records, reports, budgets, and communication.
About You
You believe anything is possible and are passionate about helping people live their best lives. You bring leadership that is both kind and courageous – guiding your team through challenges with positivity and professionalism.
You will also have:
Demonstrated experience supporting people living with disability, mental health, or complex behaviours.
Experience in applying trauma-informed and person-centred practices in supporting people with disability and/or complex needs.
Strong people leadership and team-building skills.
Adaptability to work across a diverse, multi-faceted organisation.
Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
Tech confidence (Microsoft Office, Teams, digital systems).
Availability to participate in on-call roster as required and cover sleepover shifts as required
A positive “can-do” attitude, sense of humour, and genuine passion for inclusion.
