Archer Building Group is a growing construction company delivering insurance repairs, commercial works, residential projects and make-safe services across South East Queensland.

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Carpenter who takes pride in quality workmanship, leads by example and enjoys working with a solid, supportive team.

About the Role

This is a hands-on senior role where you’ll take responsibility for jobs from start to finish and work alongside the team on site.

You’ll coordinate trades, subcontractors and apprentices, keep jobs moving and make sure the work is completed safely, on time and to a high standard.

You’ll be trusted to take ownership, make sensible decisions and sort out problems as they come up.

This role would suit an experienced Carpenter, Leading Hand or Foreman who is ready for more responsibility and wants a long-term future with a growing company.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Lead site teams, apprentices and subcontractors.

• Organise day-to-day site activities, trades and materials.

• Carry out quality carpentry and general building work.

• Read and work from construction plans, drawings and specifications.

• Keep jobs running safely, efficiently and on schedule.

• Check workmanship and make sure quality standards are met.

• Sort out site issues quickly and sensibly.

• Communicate clearly with clients, suppliers, trades and the office team.

• Keep sites safe, tidy and well organised.

• Help apprentices learn the trade properly.

• Complete site reports and job records using a mobile device.

• Follow company procedures and site safety requirements.

What We’re Looking For

• Certificate III in Carpentry or an equivalent recognised qualification.

• Experience as a Carpenter, Senior Carpenter, Leading Hand, Site Supervisor or Foreman.

• Strong practical carpentry and general building experience.

• The confidence to lead a crew and coordinate subcontractors.

• Good communication and organisational skills.

• The ability to work independently and make sound decisions.

• A practical approach to solving problems.

• Strong attention to detail and pride in your work.

• Current White Card.

• Current Australian Driver Licence.

• Ability to use a mobile device for basic site reporting.

• Ability to complete a pre-employment medical and police check if required.

Experience in insurance repairs, commercial construction, residential building or make-safe work will be highly regarded.

Tickets That Would Be Handy

These licences and qualifications would be useful but aren’t essential:

• Forklift Licence.

• Bobcat or Skid Steer Licence.

• Excavator Licence.

• EWP Licence.

• MR or HR Truck Licence.

• Current First Aid Certificate.
