WHS Advisor — Logan Coaches

Safety is at the heart of what we do at Logan Coaches, part of the CAVBUS Group. We're looking for a WHS Advisor to join our team and help us cement the WHS function into the heart of our business.

About the role

We've done a lot of the groundwork already — solid systems currently being implemented and a safety-first culture across our depot and driver workforce. Now we're looking for someone to take the reins with genuine autonomy, finish cementing WHS as a core part of how we operate, and bring their own ideas to the table. You won't be doing this alone either — we have Peninsula as an outside WHS advisory service for extra support and backup when you need it.

What you'll be doing

• Championing WHS compliance and best practice across our depot and on-road operations

• Leading risk assessments, incident investigations, and hazard reporting

• Keeping our safety management systems sharp, current, and genuinely useful (not just paperwork)

• Building safety culture from the ground up — helping us establish a Health & Safety Committee and getting people genuinely engaged, not just ticking boxes

• Partnering with our Drivers Trainer to incorporate WHS training into inductions

• Building relationships with regulators and staying on top of transport and WHS legislation

• Supporting injury management and return-to-work processes with care

About you

You're someone who genuinely cares about people going home safe every day, and you back that up with practical, on-the-ground know-how rather than just policy for policy's sake. You're comfortable working independently, confident enough to challenge the status quo when it matters, and you build trust easily — whether that's with a driver on the floor or a manager in the office. You see this as a chance to really own something and leave your mark, not just step into someone else's system.

What you'll bring

• Minimum Certificate IV in WHS — a Diploma of Quality Auditing would be highly regarded

• Experience in transport, logistics, or another high-risk operational environment is highly regarded

• Great people skills — you can talk safety with a driver on the floor just as easily as in a meeting room

• A proactive, can-do approach and confidence to run with things independently
