About the Role

We are looking for a Merchant Onboarding Associate to support merchant activation across Australia. Reporting directly to the AU General Manager, you will work closely with Business Development, Compliance, and HQ Operations to help merchants complete the onboarding process smoothly and efficiently.

This is a high-volume, merchant-facing role. You will communicate directly with Merchant Owners by phone, email, and where required, in person to collect and follow up on KYC and onboarding documentation. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organised, proactive, and confident communicating with merchants.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end merchant onboarding process from signed agreement to activation

• Communicate directly with Merchant Owners via phone, email, and in-person visits where required

• Collect, review, and follow up on KYC and onboarding documentation

• Identify missing or incorrect information and work with merchants to resolve issues

• Coordinate with Business Development, Compliance, and Operations to ensure smooth onboarding

• Ensure onboarding activities meet compliance requirements and internal SLAs

• Maintain accurate merchant information across CRM and onboarding systems

• Monitor onboarding pipelines and proactively follow up on outstanding cases

• Manage multiple merchant cases while maintaining a high level of accuracy and service

• Support onboarding reporting and identify opportunities to improve the merchant onboarding experience

What We're Looking For

• 0–2 years' experience in customer operations, onboarding, sales support, client services, banking, fintech, or a similar role

• Fresh graduates are welcome

• Strong attention to detail and high level of data accuracy

• Confident and professional when communicating with customers or business owners

• Comfortable making phone calls and following up with merchants

• Strong organisational and time-management skills

• Proactive, accountable, and resilient in a fast-paced environment

• Comfortable managing a high volume of cases and working to deadlines

• Willing to conduct occasional in-person merchant visits when required

Nice to Have

• Exposure to KYC / AML / compliance

• Experience in fintech, payments, banking, SaaS, or customer operations

• Strong Excel / Google Sheets skills

• Familiarity with CRM or workflow tools

• Previous experience working directly with merchants or business customers
