SIRA is looking for an Assistant Advisor Scheme Design (Assistant Policy Officer) to join the organisation.
About Us
SIRA regulates three statutory insurance schemes in NSW - Workers Compensation, Compulsory Third Party and Home Building Compensation. We also oversee regulatory functions in other schemes including Dust Diseases and Lifetime Care and Support. We have offices in Sydney and Gosford.

About the role
We are seeking an Assistant Scheme Design Advisor to join the Integration and Review team in SIRA's Scheme Design - Workers Compensation & Health directorate, under the Regulatory Strategy & Stewardship Division. In this role, you will support the team with policy and regulatory reform initiatives within the workers compensation scheme.
Your responsibilitiesSupport project delivery: Monitor project timelines and check quality standardsAssist with research: Gather data and investigate policy areas, to contribute to informed decision making and policy developmentHelp draft reports: Prepare clear briefs and project plans that guide policy decisionsHandle team administration: Prepare meeting papers, draft letters, and take notesCoordinate stakeholders: Organise working groups and committees to connect stakeholders and promote collaborationOrganise documentation: Keep project files and correspondence secure and up to dateBoost process improvement: Find technology solutions to increase daily team efficiency.About youYou have experience developing and analysing government policy, or hold qualifications in political or social science, public policy, or lawYou communicate complex ideas clearlyYou thrive in dynamic environments and adapt quickly to change and uncertaintyYou manage multiple tasks effectively, taking initiative to get things done on timeYou solve problems by analysing data and using legislation to guide decisionYou collaborate with your team and share your ideasYou take ownership of your work, acting responsibly and in line with official policies, guidelines and law.BenefitsGenuinely flexible working arrangementState of the art officesWellbeing programs and resourcesExcellent career and learning development opportunities.Eligibility
